2022 Kia EV6 vs. 2022 Lexus RX 350

As the world progresses toward the regular use of electric vehicles, the competition between them is getting tighter. We present the 2022 Kia EV6 vs. the 2022 Lexus RX 350 in this comparison. With the following information, you will be able to make a more informed choice as to which you would rather own.

The Kia has comfy seats in a premium cabin, numerous safety features, spry handling, and an impressive driving range.

The Lexus offers what you'd expect from a luxury SUV. It has lots of technology, supportive seats, offers a pleasant ride quality, and features an elegant interior.

Design & Style

Looking at the exterior design of the 2022 Kia EV6, you'll notice right away that the Kia has a modern, sleek design. Compared to most mainstream EVs, it's more stylish. There is a pleasant mix of high-tech content in the EV6 starting with a digitalized dashboard. Style and good taste come through in the cockpit’s gold accents, prominent center console start button, and the two-spoke, two-tone steering wheel.

The 2022 Lexus RX 350 interior is made up of soft touch plastics, textured wood or metallic trims, and soft leather. Unfortunately, several ergonomic missteps mar its good points. An inaccurate, irritating controller operates the infotainment system and it's awkward for the driver to reach the radio turning knob. The infotainment system does, however, have touch screen capability.

Technology & Safety

The 2022 Kia EV6 has a 12-inch touchscreen running the infotainment system. The system includes a Wi-Fi hotspot, wireless smartphone charging, Android Auto, voice command capabilities, and more. Safety features abound, coming in both standard or optional packages.

The 2022 Lexus RX 350, unfortunately, has a difficult-to-use-when-driving infotainment system. That said, many of the standard features are offered including onboard Wi-Fi, Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, and more. Adaptive cruise control, lane keeping assist with lane departure warning, automated emergency braking, and more are standard safety features.

Performance

The 2022 Kia EV6 can be configured with all-wheel or rear wheel drive. You can choose either 576 total horsepower or 320 in the all-wheel drive models. But 176 horses are available for the rear drive choice. You can go from 0 to 60 in 4.5 seconds on the 320 hp model.

The 2022 Lexus RX 350 offers a couple of choices: two electric motors and a V-6 in the RX450h, or a 3.5 L V-6 powering the RX350. Unfortunately, to get from 0 to 60 mph, the Lexus falls behind many other models.

The Bottom Line

So, what's your verdict? You may wish you had a bit more cargo size in the Kia, but the fact that it has so many incredible safety features, an upscale, comfy interior, lively handling, and offers a lengthy driving range can't be beat.

The Lexus, on the other hand, seems less athletic when compared to other makes and models, only offers a tiny third row seat (in certain cases), and where cargo capacity is concerned, comes in below average.
