2022 Kia EV6 vs. 2022 Nissan Rogue

As the world continues its love affair with electric vehicles, the competition between them is getting hotter and hotter. Some car buyers, however, still prefer the tried-and-true gasoline engines. We compare the 2022 Kia EV6 vs. the 2022 Nissan Rogue in this matchup. Starting with performance, the Kia has much to offer.

Design & Style

The Kia is a futuristic-looking vehicle and visually appealing. While it's no athlete, the Rogue is, admittedly, styled handsomely. The Rogue’s biggest strong points are its value (if you’re willing to spend) and practicality.

The Kia EV6 boasts a design that is both pleasing and considerably future-oriented. With electric vehicles becoming increasingly popular, it makes sense for automakers to design their electric models with a more futuristic aesthetic. The Kia scores big points for both. With no "attitude" to speak of – which some people prefer – the Nissan Rogue is just your basic compact crossover.

The Rogue offers about average passenger space but, behind the rear seats, it has decreased cargo capacity. The types of SUV buyer preferences you'd expect – a host of optional and standard niceties – are definitely included. Rogue owners have complained, on occasion, about fussy infotainment controls, however.

The Kia has a sleek and modern look inside. It has numerous built-in features, such as a touch screen display that is easy to use. The seats are also comfortable and supportive, which you'll appreciate on long trips. The Rogue, if you go with the premium package, has much to offer where luxury items are concerned (faux leather upholstery, panoramic sunroof, etc.). So, keep in mind, you'll be spending more to get the finer things in life with the Rogue.

Technology & Safety

Automobile manufacturers are jumping on board the safety-feature bandwagon in order to not only keep their consumers safer but to appeal to those with families. Above all else, people want to feel safe behind the wheel of their vehicle. With that said, all of the safety features you'd expect can be found on both vehicles.

Performance

The Kia EV6 outperforms many of today's vehicles when it comes to engine specs. The EPA estimated range of the Kia, in terms of fuel economy, is 234 miles. It has a maximum torque of 295 lb-ft and accelerates from 0-60 mph in 6.5 seconds. The Kia can go up to 370 miles on a single charge. The Kia EV6 also has fast-charging capabilities. It can be charged up to 80% in just 30 minutes.

The Rogue comes standard with front-wheel-drive and CVT (continuously variable automatic transmission). All-wheel-drive is available. You'll get 201 hp from the 1.5 L three-cylinder turbocharged engine. Thankfully, this year's Rogue feels perkier than last year's, which was criticized for lackadaisical acceleration.

The Bottom Line

Which one of these automobiles is the preferred option for today’s consumers - the Kia EV6 or the Nissan Rogue? Both are good choices, but the Kia EV6 is the preferred option if you're looking for something that's fun to drive, handles well, and is affordable.

The Rogue, unless you want to spend significantly more on one of its higher models, is lacking. The handling is bland, the price tag is too big, and the standard warranty offerings are reportedly mediocre.
