2023 Kia EV6 vs. 2023 INFINITI QX50

The 2023 Kia EV6 is an electric SUV with superb range and efficiency that also offers lots of creature comforts with GT performance. But how does it compare to the 2023 INFINITI QX50, an SUV which is highly regarded for it turbocharged engine, array of technology and attractive profile?

Design & Style

The INFINITI QX50 is a moderately sized luxury SUV which can seat five passengers. It sits on twenty inch wheels that are dual toned, with a glossy dark exterior trim and cabin that features seats covered in semi aniline style leather. For 2023 buyers now have the option of the Radiant White exterior paint color as well as Monaco Red or Pebble Gray for the interior.

The Kia EV6 also seats five passengers. Though it uses the same chassis and powertrain as the Ioniq 5, its driving stance is lower with a sportier presentation. For 2023 Kia has introduced a GT higher performance variant while phasing out the Light trim which featured the fifty eight kWh batteries. Now all versions of the Kia EV6 use the 77.4 kWh battery pack instead. It sits on twenty one inch wheels with cross stitched leather that is lime green in color.

Technology & Safety

The IIHS loves the Kia EV6, and has bestowed its prestigious Top Safety Pick+ as a result. This is because the vehicle has done a stellar job of withstanding impacts or avoiding them outright. It accomplished this with gear such as activated lane control, automated high beams, multiple airbags, a reinforced frame, emergency automated brakes and blind area monitoring. Luxuries inside its cabin consist of dual twelve inch touch displays, wifi, side mirrors that power fold, seats that can be heated or cooled and multizone climate control.

The INFINITI QX50 comes with most of the safety features found in the Kia and has received positive feedback from the IIHS and NHTSA. It too has emergency automated brakes, multiple airbags, adapted cruise control, and the ability to monitor the attention of the driver while alleviating fatigue during long journeys. Luxuries within its cabin include powered seats, heated external mirrors, remote start, climate control and wireless charging for electronic devices.

Performance

The 2023 INFINITI QX50 is outfitted with a two liter engine that can generate 268 horsepower with the ability to accelerate from zero to sixty in 6.4 seconds, with a towing capacity of 3,000 pounds. The Kia EV6 has two magnetic motors that can generate the equivalent of 320 horsepower which enables it to accelerate from zero to sixty in 5.2 seconds with a towing capacity of 4,500 pounds.

The Bottom Line

Both SUVs seat five and are tied when it comes to safety. But the Kia EV6 has more horsepower, faster acceleration and superior towing capacity and this combined with the QX50’s inferior fuel economy makes the Kia EV6 the winner.
