2023 Kia Telluride vs. 2023 INFINITI QX60

The 2023 INFINITI QX60 is an SUV lauded for its opulent interior, excellent towing capacity and refined presentation. But is this enough to beat the 2023 Kia Telluride, an SUV praised for its advanced tech, impressive performance and handsome appearance?

Design & Style

The Kia Telluride is a 3 row sport utility vehicle that can hold up to 8 people. Its latest updates for this year include enhanced technology, more advanced driver assistance, and new illumination with additional wheel designs. Extra ground clearance has also been added which makes the vehicle better suited to off road handling. The LED headlamps in front have been modified so that they extend vertically, which boosts their already impressive performance.

The INFINITI QX60 also offers 3 rows but can only seat 7. Its updates for this year have been minimal, namely a new wireless charging device and complimentary maintenance for three years. It shares a number of mechanical similarities with the Pathfinder from Nissan, but is more expensive with conservative exterior lines, lower cladding and fender flares that are non-painted. Its cabin is elegant with noise cancellation and its suspension provides a comfortable riding experience.

Technology & Safety

When it comes to frontal impact tests, the QX60 only scored a 4 star rating instead of 5. It comes with a number of advanced features including lane departure alerts, blind area monitoring, emergency automated brakes and multiple airbags. Comforts within its cabin include a camera with surround view, seventeen speaker sound system from Bose, seats that provide massages and climate control.

The Kia Telluride has captured both a Top Safety Pick+ award from the IIHS and five star NHTSA rating. It has all the same features as the QX60, including emergency automatic brakes, adapted cruise control, blind area monitoring, multiple airbags, and can even perform automatic lane changes when needed. Comforts inside its cabin consist of powered leather seats that can be cooled or heated, climate control, an audio system from Harman Kardon and a large sunroof.

Performance

The Kia Telluride is powered by a V6, 3.8 liter engine that can generate 291 horsepower with the ability to accelerate from zero to sixty in 6.8 seconds with a towing capacity of 5,000 pounds and a top speed of 132 mph. The INFINITI QX60 is powered by a V6, 3.5 liter engine that can generate 295 horsepower with the ability to accelerate from zero to sixty in 6.6 seconds with a towing capacity of 6,000 pounds and 120 mph top speed.

The Bottom Line

The QX60 seats fewer passengers than the Telluride, but has higher towing capacity. And though both SUVs are nearly tied when it comes to horsepower and acceleration, the INFINITI has inferior safety scores while the Kia Telluride has better top speed. And this combined with the Kia’s superior cargo space makes the Telluride the winner.
