The Kia Forte vs. the Honda Civic

• Optional and standard features. For drivers in the Babylon and Bay Shore area who like an entry-level model, but, still want a healthy roster of features for their money, the Kia Forte is the way to go. For standard equipment, the Kia Forte comes with heated mirrors and satellite radio, which the Honda Civic doesn't offer these standard. Plus, the base model, Kia Forte LX, can be equipped with an optional package that adds a touchscreen interface and Apple CarPlay and Android Auto smartphone integration, among other popular features. The base model Honda Civic isn't eligible for any of these tech features, and drivers can only get them in the Civic by moving up trim levels.
• Fuel capacity and range. Both the Kia Forte and the Honda Civic are available in your choice of a four-door sedan or a four-door hatchback. However, regardless of which style you choose, the Kia Forte comes equipped with a larger fuel tank that holds more than 13 gallons, compared to the Honda, which holds around 12 gallons. This means fewer stops at the gas station for you, and a broader range of miles per fill up.
• Ease of getting in and out. The Kia Forte sedan and hatchback are both designed with back and front doors that open wide, making it easy to get in and out of, and the seats are at a height where drivers won't feel as if they're falling into a lower position. With the Honda Civic, the seat height is similar and the doors also open wide, however, the Civic was recently redesigned with a dramatically sloping rear window. This cuts headroom for backseat passengers, and it means that people getting in and out of the back have to be careful and watch their heads.

The Kia Optima vs. the Honda Accord

• Hybrid options. While both the Kia Optima sedan and the Honda Accord sedan have traditional gas / electric hybrid versions available for Massapequa drivers who like the fuel-sipping technology of a hybrid powertrain, only the Kia Optima takes it a step further by offering a plug-in style hybrid as well. This type of hybrid allows you to go a lot further on electric power alone, with a range of around 29 miles per charge.
• Passenger and driver space. Both the Kia Optima sedan and the Honda Accord sedan are similarly sized, with near-identical measurements for height, length, and width. However, the Kia Optima makes great use of its dimensions, giving you more legroom for the front seat, and more headroom in both the front and backseats.
• Tech features. The Kia Optima comes standard with more great features than the Honda Accord. In fact, drivers can expect every Kia Optima to come equipped with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto smartphone integration, while only drivers who opt for more-expensive trim levels or a pricier engine option will get the same feature in the Honda Accord. Other standard features to be on the lookout for on the Kia Optima include heated mirrors, a touchscreen interface, and automatic headlights.

The Kia Soul vs. the Honda HR-V

• Size and space. While Kia calls the Soul a wagon, and Honda calls the HR-V a subcompact SUV crossover, these two vehicles are actually similarly sized. However, the Kia Soul measures slightly taller and wider than the Honda HR-V. This allows drivers to gain a little more headroom and shoulder room in both the front and backseats than they would get in the Honda crossover.
• Engine options and performance. The Kia Soul gives drivers two different options for how they want their car powered, with a 1.6-liter four-cylinder engine with 130 horsepower standard for the first couple of trims, and a 1.6-liter turbocharged four-cylinder with 201 horsepower standard for the top trim. The Honda HR-V, on the other hand, only comes with one engine, removing the option of a more-powerful ride for drivers. Plus, the single Honda engine is not as powerful as the top Kia Soul engine, with an output rating of only 148 horsepower.
• Safety and convenience features. Not only does the Kia Soul come standard with more great features than the Honda HR-V, including satellite radio, it also has more optional features available for the entry-level model. Drivers can purchase the base model Kia Soul and add on such things as Apple CarPlay and Android Auto smartphone integration, as well as Kia's signature Uvo tech interface with touchscreen. The Honda HR-V, on the other hand, only allows drivers advanced tech features like these if they move up to the upper trim levels.

The Kia Sportage vs. the Honda CR-V

• Features. The Kia Sportage has more available features for the base model than the Honda CR-V. Drivers get a touchscreen interface, a backseat that folds in a split and reclines, and satellite radio. Plus, there is an optional package for the base model to add advanced features and smartphone integration. The Honda CR-V base model doesn't have any of these features as either standard or optional, and drivers have to move up trim levels and spend more money to get them.
• Power and performance. Both the Honda CR-V and the Kia Sportage offer drivers a couple of different powertrains to choose from. However, the Kia Sportage has a little more oomph, topping out with a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine that produces 240 horsepower on the top trim. The Honda CR-V only tops out at 190 horsepower for its top trims.
• Towing capacity. If you and your family need to take a small camper or boat along for your weekend adventures, the Kia Sportage is a better option than the Honda CR-V. It has a maximum tow capacity of around 2,000 pounds, while the Honda towing capacity is 1,500 pounds.

The Kia Sorento vs. the Honda Pilot

• Engine options and performance. While the Honda Pilot only comes with a single engine, a 280-horsepower V6, the Kia Sorento allows drivers to choose between three different options. These include a 185-horsepower four-cylinder, a 240-horsepower four-cylinder, and a 290-horsepower V6.
• Seating configurations. The Honda Pilot is a three-row SUV. Drivers don't have much say in whether or not they want a larger SUV with a third row, because it comes as standard equipment. On the Kia Sorento, though, drivers who want the large SUV size and style, but don't necessarily want a third row of seats, can get their vehicle with just two rows.
• Legroom. You and your passengers will be more comfortable in the Kia Sorento than the Honda Pilot, especially if you have longer legs. The Kia SUV has four inches more legroom in the front seat, and an inch more in the backseat, when compared to the Honda SUV.
