How To Replace Windshield Wipers For Kia Cars

Windshield wipers are an essential part of every Kia car. They play an important role in keeping your windshield clean and clear. Wipers can also help you get a better view during inclement weather conditions like rain, snowstorms, and foggy situations. If your wipers are working properly, they will be able to remove dirt or mud off the glass's surface effectively, which may lead to permanent damage on the windshield itself if left untreated for too long.

If you notice that your windshield wipers are not cleaning the front of the glass properly, there are a few things you can do to correct this.

First, make sure that there is no dirt or grime on the blade. If so, clean it off with warm water and soap before wiping it dry with a paper towel. Next, check how much pressure is required to move them back and forth across the windshield. If it's too much, they may be warped or worn out; if so, replace them with new ones before driving again!

Replacing windshield wipers is one of the easiest DIY repairs you can do yourself in just a few minutes with minimal effort required; here's how:

Locate Wiper Arms On Car

To replace your windshield wipers, you must locate the wiper arms on your car. They are located in front of the driver's side door and passenger side. Check for signs of damage or wear. If they are damaged, you can replace them; if they are worn, you can also replace them.

Raise Wiper Arm From Its Resting Position

With the wiper arm resting, grab it from the top and pull it toward you. You'll feel a slight resistance as it pops out of its retaining groove.

Next, use your hand to push the wiper arm forward. This will allow you to remove the remaining components that are still connected to your Kia windshield wipers.

At this point, one more thing needs to be done before installing new wipers: remove all remaining pieces of old windshield wiper blades by pushing them down and away with your hand or fingers until they come loose easily.

Remove Wiper Blade From The Arm

You will need to turn the arm of your wiper so that it is facing up. Then press on the release tab at the top of the blade, lift it off of the arm and pull it away from the car.

Clean Frame Of Old Adhesive With A Cloth Soaked In Alcohol

Before installing the new wiper blade, you have to remove the old one and clean it with alcohol to remove any debris. You'll want to use a cloth soaked in rubbing alcohol to clean off the old adhesives around your windshield frame. Make sure that your cloth is clean and dry before wiping away the glue because if there's any residue left on there, it could cause damage when installing new blades.

Once all of this is done, and everything's nice and clean and dry (or at least as clean as possible), it's time for installation!

Drop The New Wiper Into Place And Carefully Position It

Drop the new wiper into place and carefully position it. This is where it's good to have a second person handy who can help guide you along. Once the bottom edge of your new wiper is touching the hood, lift it up on one side to ensure that it is completely seated against all four edges of your windshield frame. Also, check that there aren't any gaps at either end of the wiper blade (if there are, re-seat your old wiper before proceeding). If everything looks good from here on out, proceed!

Repeat Steps For Other Side

Now you can repeat the steps for the other side. Make sure that you have new blades for both sides and have enough time before rain or snow falls to do both sides.
