Though it does make use of hard plastics on several parts of its surfaces, the Rio still manages to present an elegant cabin style. The Kia Rio is powered by a 1.6L four-cylinder, putting out adequate power of 120 hp for regular commutes and slightly further distances.

Known for its big engine performance, the MINI Cooper can make 134 hp from a turbo 1.5L three-cylinder engine. This obviously comes at the price of poor fuel economy.

The Bottom Line

The Kia Rio definitely deserves to be shortlisted if you are in need of an affordable small car for simple commutes. It does deliver up to expectations if you are not looking for anything fancy or over the top.
